June 2021 Book of the Month
Author: Dr. William Lane Craig
Title: On Guard: Defending Your Faith with Reason and Precision
The recommended book for the month of June is On Guard: Defending Your Faith with Reason and Precision by Dr. William Lane Craig.
The reason why I highly recommend this book is, first and foremost, it is easy to read! Unlike some of the books and articles that are able for Christian apologetics, On Guard is accessible from junior high students who are interested in defending and promoting their faith in Christianity.
Furthermore, it is a concise guide filled with illustrations, sidebars, and memorizable steps to help Christians stand their ground and defend their faith with reason and precision.
Dr. Craig offers four arguments for God's existence, defends the historicity of Jesus' personal claims and resurrection, addresses the problem of suffering, and shows why religious relativism doesn't work. In the book, you will discover not just what you believe as a Christian, but why you believe.
This is still my "go-to" book, so-to-speak, for apologetics! I love the logical proofs that he lays out at the end of the chapter. Not only is it useful to teach a Bible Study class, but also for your personal growth in knowing not only the WHAT but also the WHY of Christianity.
