Pastor Sam Park | Lead Pastor
Pastor Sam serves as the Lead Pastor at Oikos LA. He graduated from University of California Los Angeles (UCLA) with a B.S. in Cognitive Science. Currently, Pastor Sam is working on his Master of Divinity degree at Talbot School of Theology. In his free time, Pastor Sam enjoys reading books, watching movies, and playing sports. His passion is to preach the Word of God to help the Church connect with God and connect with others one week at a time. Pastor Sam's responsibilities as the Lead Pastor of Oikos LA is to teach and shepherd the members of Oikos LA to live out the Gospel in their individual lives and to grow in their love and relationship with Jesus. His favorite food is kimchi jjiggae and watermelon! Go Warriors!
Caleb Kim | Worship Director
Caleb graduated from UCR with a B.S. in biology, but he underwent a career change and completed a boot camp called Hack Reactor. Currently, Caleb works as a software engineer/scrum master at Epitel, a med-tech company. He has various interests such as mechanical keyboards, music, sports, and games. As the Worship Director, Caleb leads praise and oversees the overall worship that takes place every Sunday at OIKOS LA. Lately, Caleb has been craving specific foods, including loma saltado, ramen, various Korean stews/soups, and maybe the occasional pasta dish. He considers himself not a picky eater.
Elisha Lee | Media Director
Elisha serves as the Media Team Director at Oikos LA. She graduated from U.C. Riverside with a B.S. in Business Administration concentrating in Management. In her free time, she enjoys watching movies, editing videos, reading, and traveling to new places.
Frank Chung | Welcoming Director
Frank is originally from New Jersey and graduated from the University of Notre Dame as an accounting major. He is now working at a recruiting firm as part of their accounting team. Frank enjoys spending time with his wife and cat in his free time, as well as playing basketball and getting meals with his friends. As the Welcoming Director, Frank aims to create a space where people feel comfortable to meet and worship Jesus, both through worship and community. With this goal in mind, the Welcoming Team welcomes and introduces newcomers to the existing members in the congregation, so that newcomers can connect to Oikos LA as part of our spiritual family. Frank’s favorite food is white rice! He loves when he can enjoy a bowl of freshly cooked rice that can be paired with so many other foods. The versatility of rice!
Mark Kim | Collegian Praise Leader
Mark serves as the Collegian Praise Leader at Oikos LA. He is currently studying Computational Mathematics at U.C. Riverside. He has been attending Berendo St. Baptist Church since childhood. Mark is also serving in TITUS Youth Ministry as a small group teacher. He enjoys playing guitar, singing, listening to a lot of music, playing games with friends, and coding as a hobby.
Steven Earnest | Ministry Director
Steven moved to Koreatown from the suburbs in 2022 and currently works in the video game industry in Santa Monica. In his free time, Steven enjoys learning Korean – he’s still very much a beginner, but appreciates all the practice he can get – and playing video games with friends. As Ministry Director, Steven oversees communications to members through Church Center and updates to the church website (this one!). In this role, he aims to help members connect with one another, which is a key part of Oikos LA’s vision statement. His favorite food is ribeye and he loves passionfruit green tea!
Yerim Lee | Inreach Director
Yerim is a graduate of the University of Notre Dame. She is a product designer specializing in software design. Yerim enjoys spending quality time with friends, family, and her cat. She is passionate about self expression and product management. Her role in leadership is Inreach Director, which means that she manages life groups and the fellowship center. Yerim’s current favorite food is bossam with soybean stew.
David Kim | Outreach Director
David graduated from UCLA with a B.S. in Biology and is currently looking into further study through higher education. His hobbies include reading, playing guitar, and playing games with friends. As a newly added Outreach Director, David is excited to serve Oikos LA’s direct and extended community through various events and ministries. His favorite food is 감자탕 (Pork backbone stew), not only because of the taste but also because it’s usually a meal best eaten shared with others. Feel free to reach out to David for a meal anytime!
